What Color is your Parachute?

Red and white it turns out. As it's time for a re-pack - let's see if it works.... Softie Bale Out Chute.... Pull the "D" ring....

will start to inflate (hopefully). You need 300ft for deployment and and other 200ft for a deceleration and "save". Better to decide to leave at 1,500ft AGL if you are going to bale.

Steering toggles are yellow tapes stitched to each shoulder. Pull to break the stitching and get hold of it.

200’ for deceleration? I was always taught that by the time of inflation you were decelerated.

I think I am stumbling on the terminology. Estimate 300’ for it to get out and start to open, then maybe the 200’ for full opening. At full opening you are decelerated.

Is that red or some variant of international orange ;)

Mine is a Micro Wedge and you were the second reminder in as many days it's due :)
