WING WIRING IN QUICK BUILD

Postby taildragger » Tue Jan 25, 2022 9:04 pm

Anyone know if Sonex builds Quick Build wings with grommets and a string to pull wing tip light and/or landing light wires?

Then I would be able to either:

A) Insert the wiring with a long rod
or
B) Pull the wiring through with a string

I installed a teflon tube 5/16" OD x 1/4" ID in the front rib hole in my Xenos wing after it was built. I needed to mount the magnetometer on the 2nd to last tip rib, which I did. The tube is fastened at the root, rib with spoiler access port, and tip ribs. I used an old windsurfer mast as a fishing pole to poke it through because that is what I had. The multiconductor cable from GRT fished right through the tube with no problem. I used the teflon tube also because that is what I had left over from a past project. It originally came from McMaster-Carr.

The wing comes with 1/4" OD tube installed about 1" behind leading edge. Tried to upload picture but no luck.
