I have built most of a hummelbird from scratch, restored most of a C140, and am building the Waiex. About 99% of my holes were shot with a cordless. Some with the air drill, some with an old school corded drill.

The best drill I ever owned is the DeWalt 20V LiPo cordless with mating impact driver. Costly, but worth it.

For just using the rivet puller, small and cheap is fine. I didn't paint or go air for drilling. I did get a larger one because I decided to use a rivet gun to do the spars and other (non Sonex building uses). However, the Sonex spar riveting techniques work just fine as well. Any large compressor for just pulling pop rivets is overkill.

My larger compressor is now coming in handy on my new RV14 build, but that is all bucked rivets.
