Larry Engert here in Coeur d Alene, Idaho with Waiex 121YX.
Plane was completed, (if you can ever really call it complete) in Sept, 2011. She now has 334 hrs.
Powered by Solid lifter 3300 and Aero-Injector, Panel consists of Dynon Skyview with 2 axis AP. Radio is Micro-Air 760 with
Flightcom intercom and ANR headsets. Transponder is Trig. In addition I have an Adventure Pilot GPS. Handy to have duel
GPS to allow the Dynon to remain on PFD and Engine functions during critical phase of flight like takeoffs and landings. Once
enroute I bring up the map functions to use the AP. Very functional and practical. Not a single failure of any type since
installed. Would never go back to mechanical instuments after the positive experiences using this.

Welcome to the forums Larry! I have always loved your part polish/part paint exterior (part of the reason I did the same thing!)

I'm glad to hear the Waiex is flying a lot and hope you're able to start putting more hours on it this spring! Just out of curiousity, how far are you from Idaho Falls?

Might as well be on another planet Mike. Idaho Falls is in S. Idaho and I'm just 60 miles south of the Canada/Idaho border.
Kip Laurie flew out here last July and we sipped a few brews and told flying lies and then next day he launched for Oskosh. Was great to see the two birds together. When I figure out how to post pictures on here they will be coming. Yeah, winter has been hell this year. I flew New Years Day and then not till Feb 15th and last weekend I managed to get in about 4 hrs. This weekend is non-stop rain again. GEEZ!
Get a turbo on that Aero-Vee and come on out.

I'd love to Larry! I get into IDA a few times a year on business but never out your way. The turbo and a visit sounds good to me!

Hi Larry, I met you last summer at Spokane Soaring Society in Deer Park. Maybe we will run into each other this summer.
I always enjoyed reading your posts on Yahoo. Looking forward to the same here.

Welcome to the forums Larry. I am only 70 waiexes behind you. I once rode my '81 Suzuki GS650E from CT to CA and back and rode through part of Idaho. I thought it had all the green hilly beauty of the northeast but bigger and less crowded. Had to turn back from Yellowstone though due to snow- in June, two days worth. I nearly froze as I did not know winter out there extended into summer. I am a former soaring enthusiast too.

Bryan,
Us native Idahoan's tell the new folks, "we got 10 months of winter and two months of bad snowmobiling if all goes well".
Scares off most of the folks from moving here and then we selfishly get to keep it to ourselves. Evidently the scare factor seems to be wearing off though. The population has more than doubled in my lifetime.
