50 hours this AM. Oil has been changed and we'll adjust the valves after cooldown.

If anyone is interested, Adam has posted a couple more pattern work videos in his Waiex flying playlist. They are sort of repetitive, but some people may enjoy seeing progress.

I think I'm going to take my younger son Matthew to Sun-n-Fun.

My left flap has a gap on top, once I trimmed out the left roll tendency.

Also check it out as compared to the aileron.

Time for some rework. Adam is headed back to school.

I have the same difference in trailing edge distance between flap and aileron, one trailing edge is longer than the other. I don't know how it happened, the hinges are in the correct spot with alignment on the skin/rear spar trailing edges. Maybe the aileron and flap skins from the kit were bent different?

Ken,
I have no idea how it happened. I'm going to make a new hinge half and move it back.

Do both flaps have the same chord? Do they both have the offset?
That looks like more of a disparity than a single hinge relocation could fix- or are you going to move the flap in some and the aileron out?
Mine were similar. I just added a static wick to change people's focus.

The right flap is tight, no gap, and a small disparity compared to the aileron. The left flap needs to move forward 5/32". I can get that. I'm more unhappy with the gap than the disparity.

Why not adjust flap to where should be and add an oversized trim tab to right aileron and trim it down as needed to get it to fly without roll in normal cruise flight. Before doing this rudder should have been trimmed to center the ball.
My Sonex also had a left turn tendency and this is the way I trimmed it. When in cruise looking at the ailerons they appear to be faired. Was never a fan of the flap method.

I really think my flap was positioned poorly, and when I closed the gap the left flap was up. My airplane ended up pretty straight otherwise.
