Here's my canopy cover made from walmart tablecloths.

I made 3 of these tiedowns. Stakes are 3/8" aluminum rod, sharpened on one end and threaded for a nut on the other. The eye is 5/8" and there is a wingnut on top to tighten it up. The holes in the ends are 7/16" so I can angle in the rods. Weighs 1.8 lbs for the 3, plus whatever the rope weighs.

The rod came in an 8' length and I cut out 9 equal length pieces. The flat pieces are 4" long.
I am thinking of making a couple little black storage bags for this stuff, so I can stick it on the glareshield rather than the baggage compartment. That will keep my CG a little further forward to allow low fuel.

ps Adam has been building solo time working on his rating. Looking forward to turning him loose in the Waiex.
