Reply from B&C:
Bryan,
Thank you for contacting us with that question. At the present time, we do not have a voltage regulator that we consider compatible with the AeroVee alternator. We have a design in the development process that should be suitable, however. I have not been given a release date at this point, but if all goes well with tests of the prototypes, it may be available within the next 6 months or so.

We appreciate your checking with us. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind Regards,

Night flying. The big left turn was after the VR failure and we aborted.

I like the hat... "First Time Homebuilder".
Also looks a bit cozy in there.

Thanks! Homebuilt HQ at Airventure gave us those hats for bringing our new Waiex to Oshkosh for the first time in the calendar year we completed it. We also got a plaque and they sang us a song. Noel Wade got the same!

Yep, it's cozy. Airplanes are compromises. Room and payload are not the primary design objectives for the Waiex. Fun and low cost flying are.

At Airventure we loaned some camping gear to a fellow Sonex builder. They left it with Sonex when they departed. It's only 101nm north of us and was a good time builder for Adam to go and retrieve it.

Adam needs about 3 more tailwheel hours and 11 more total hours before I can add him to my insurance. They required 100 total and 50 tailwheel.

A year ago I did my first landing away from home, at the Cottonwood 1C8 fly in. We went today, a year and 150 hours later.

2400' of rough grass is not really enough with two of us in the airplane. Cool temps, 6 gallons, and wind but not enough margin for us.

We were just about mobbed by the attendees. The Waiex draws a crowd.
